Mester is the graduate student academic journal of the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at the University of California, Los Angeles.
For over 30 years, Mester has published articles, interviews, and book reviews on Lusophone and Hispanic literature, culture, and linguistics within the fields of Iberian, Latin-American, and Chicanx and Latinx studies.
The new visual identity designed for both the journal and the rest of its institutional communication, convey a modern yet elegant revision of the publication, considered one of the best student-run academic journals in North America since it was founded in 1970.
